Welcome to YWTF Jacksonville, FL

What is YWTF?

The Younger Women’s Task Force is a movement by and for younger women to fight for social justice. Together we form a diverse and inclusive group of activists, organizers, allies, and professionals on the local and national levels. But we’re also a community founded on the belief that we can work within and beyond the women’s movement to change the things that hold us back. YWTF has been an affiliate of AAUW since 2004.

Founding & History

The Jacksonville Chapter of the Younger Women’s Task Force is primarily invested in the mentorship of young women and girls in the Jacksonville community. YWTF Jax was formed in October 2016 by Kimberly Beasley, Laura Heffernan, and Jennifer Lieberman.

Mission & Vision

Graduate, Negotiate, Advocate!  We strive to graduate more girls from high school, send more girls to college, graduate working professionals, and advocate for equal pay in the workplace.

What is AAUW?

AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. For more than 130 years, we have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families. Programs include research on gender equality issues in education and the workplace, campus leadership, STEM education, and public policies that advance equity for women and girls.
